birds

salt dough birds made of salt dough, watercolor paint, modpodge

salt dough owls. these guys are about 2 inches tall. salt dough, watercolor, modpodge
I continue with my love of crafting with wool and embroidery stitches, as you can see. The salt dough is very interesting to work with (it is a cooked dough of salt and cornstarch and baking soda) which dries very hard with a sparkly surface. A primer coat of mod podge gave a nice painting surface.

Melissa made this. She loves mom. Embroidery, felt, picture transfer, buttons........
And this by Amy. Mod Podge'd leaves, a branch, and red thread. This has lasted for two years now. The leaves "drift" when the heat comes on.
And, another craft by mom; P.P., a groundhog, in deference to Ground Hog Day. Crafted from a recycled sweater. The eyes are closed because there is NO WAY that spring is coming any time soon to the North East. P.P. is sitting on a French Press Cozy embroidered with hearts as a gift for Valentine's Day.
